Woan happy to re-sign

The former Nottingham Forest ace, who has been a virtual ever-present for The Shrews this season, is out of contract this summer and has been linked with an MLS return.

Woan's wife is from the United States, and he believes that is one of the reasons, along with his previous time with Columbus Crew, why the link has surfaced.

"If the manager offers me another contract I'll take it," said Woan. "I'm enjoying my football here, they're a good bunch of lads.

"The atmosphere is good in the camp, so I'd be happy to stay. If I'm not offered a new contract I'm pretty open.

"I have connections in the US. I had a season over there and my wife's American - that's why people have put two and two together, but there is nothing on the horizon."
