Girondins hit with Rame blow

BORDEAUX have been hit by the news that goalkeeper Ulrich Rame faces three weeks out of action after damaging his right calf muscle.

Rame played superbly in the 1-1 draw against Strasbourg on Wednesday, but sustained a nasty injury in the game.

"I felt a sudden pain in the calf - like an electric shock," said the Girondins captain.

Scans revealed severe damage and some bleeding in the muscle leaving the shot-stopper out of action for at least three weeks.

Bordeaux already have something of a crisis, with Eduardo Costa and Savio suspended for the crunch game against Nantes, and Pascal Feindouno struggling back to fitness.
