Mateja the man for PSV
Guus Hiddink`s PSV have shown more consistency than their rivals this term, which had them going into the game with a seven-point lead.
The advantage was stretched to ten points courtesy of a brace of goals from Mateja Kezman.
The Yugoslav opened the scoring from the penalty spot, meaning Ajax were always chasing the game.
Ajax raised their game but were unable to find a breakthrough and their hopes were dashed when skipper Cristian Chivu was sent-off for a second booking 20 minutes from time.
PSV took full advantage of their numerical superiority and Kezman slotted home Dennis Rommedahl`s pass on 88 minutes to seal the win and move them closer to the title.
The other two games, Utrecht against Groningen and Willem II`s trip to NAC Breda, ended goalless.
The only real event of note was the red card brandished to Utrecht`s Dave van den Bergh on 77 minutes.
