Camp Nou closure confirmed
THE Spanish Sports Disciplinary Committee has ratified the two-game closure of Camp Nou imposed on Barcelona after disturbances at the Catalan club's home game with Real Madrid last November.
As well as the ground closure, Barca were also fined some é¼4,000 for scenes of violence which mainly focused on Real's Luis Figo who was returning to his former club.
However, Barca will still have 30 days to launch a fresh appeal against this latest decision.
The 'azulgrana' outfit had already appealed against the initial punishment which was meted out by the Competition Committee, and it remains to be seen whether they will now plead their case further.
