Rivaldo reveals Reds desire

BRAZILIAN star Rivaldo has revealed he would like to play for Liverpool.

Rivaldo has struggled to make an impact at Milan since arriving last season from Barcelona.

The former Deportivo La Coruna star, who played against Liverpool in last season's Champions League, admitted he would like to try his luck in England with Liverpool.

"It would be an honour for me to wear their red shirt and I would regard it as a dream to play alongside Michael Owen up front. If I could choose my next team and, if they want me, it will be Liverpool," Rivaldo told the News of the World.

"The other day I was watching them play Chelsea and I could not stop watching their midfield. I have a few ideas about how I could fit in.

"Lately, I have had an itchy hand - mainly after I have seen some giant games involving Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal.

"When my hands itch, it means I am curious, anxious to know more.

"I have decided that I want one or two seasons in England before the end of my career and I want it to be at Liverpool.

"Liverpool seem to be the most technical side in the Premier League and I would have no trouble finding myself alongside a talent like Owen up front or just behind.

"They would stand well alongside the top clubs I have played with so far. I know they are not as massive a club as Manchester United, but I do know that they are a well-respected club in English football.

"I want to compare the immense passion that there is for the game in Italy with the one my international colleagues tell me about England.

"I've heard how the game is more intense there - but I'm not scared. I can also be very tough."
