Pizarro on mark in Peru win

CLAUDIO PIZARRO struck twice as Peru defeated Chile 3-0 in a friendly in Lima.

Peru may have finished the game with ten men, after Flavio Maestri was sent off in the 75th minute, but goals from Henry Quinteros and the brace by Pizarro were enough to claim a comfortable home win.

Quinteros opened the scoring after 12 minutes when Chilean keeper Nicolas Peric failed to deal with a bouncing ball inside the box.

Pizarro was on the mark in quick succession after the break, firing home with his left and then right foot in the 47th and 49th minutes.

The closest the visitors came to scoring was when Ricardo Rojas hit a post with 27 minutes on the clock.

President Alejandro Toledo watched the game at The Nacional Stadium.
