Dida handed suspended sentence
MILAN and Brazil keeper Dida has been handed a seven-month suspended jail sentence after being found guilty of using a false Portuguese passport.
The Rossoneri number one saw the punishment meted out by a judge in a Milan court on Thursday.
Dida's agent Oscar Damiani has also been implicated in the prosecution, and will undergo a trial for the same crime.
The fact that the 28-year-old was considered to be an EU citizen helped facilitate his arrival in Italy from Brazilian outfit Corinthians back in 2001.
The illegal passport issue was investigated thoroughly a couple of years ago, with several players caught up in the scandal.
