Ricardinho in Japanese link

SAO PAULO midfielder Ricardinho could be set to leave Brazil and head to the Far East with a Japanese side.

Ricardinho was a member of Brazil's World Cup-winning squad in 2002 and could return to the scene of that victory to play in the J-League.

The player's agent and uncle Rubens Pozzi says that he has already had contact with a side from Japan, but insisted that no deal had been done as yet.

"I was contacted by a person who intends to bring a Japanese entrepreneur to negotiate," said Pozzi.

"At this time of the year, it is common that consultations are made. I can say that for the time being, everything else is just speculation."

However, the representative does not discard the transfer of Ricardinho to Japanese football, although the player would prefer to play in Europe.
