Bradley returns to Saltergate

SHAYNE BRADLEY has returned to Division Two side Chesterfield after an ankle injury ended his loan spell with Lincoln City.

The 23-year-old made just three appearances during his short spell with The Red Imps and was forced to pull out of last weekend's clash with Bristol Rovers after turning on his ankle in the pre-match warm-up.

Bradley's ankle problem was the second injury he suffered with Lincoln, as he was forced to miss three matches with a calf strain following his debut against Division Three leaders Hartlepool United.

Lincoln City boss Keith Alexander was frustrated to see the on-loan striker return to Saltergate.

"I've said on numerous occasions that you can't tell what's going to happen when you bring loan players in," Alexander told the club's official website.

"Unfortunately, as with one or two of our loan signings this season, things didn't work out for Shayne.

"But that's life and we'll get on with it."

Chesterfield have injury problems of their own to a loan player, as Middlesbrough midfielder Brian Close will be out for up to three weeks after picking up a thigh injury while playing for Northern Ireland Under-21's on Tuesday.
