Emerson happy with Roma
The Brazilian wants to remain at Stadio Olimpico beyond the end of his current contract, which expires in 2005.
"When I lose, I feel really sad," he admitted.
"For this reason, I'm interested in the team's plans.
"When (Franco) Sensi contacted me at Bayer Leverkusen, I asked him if he had a team able to win and, after his positive answer, I told him we could speak about the contract.
"And this is the same thing now.
"Also, if we won't play in the Champions League next year, our aim has to be to play for winning - either in Serie A or the Uefa Cup."
The tough-tackler seems very happy with life in the Italian capital, despite Roma's current predicament.
"Sensi knows how to call my agent but now I prefer waiting and just thinking about playing," he added.
"Anyway, a possible transfer won't depend on me.
"I feel good here. The team is strong even though we've been stopped by episodes this year.
"I can't believe Roma will stay like it is now. I have said - I want to win!"
