Agent: No new Roma deal for Cafu

CAFU'S agent Ivano Antonelli has dismissed reports that the Brazilian legend has agreed an extension with the Serie A club.

The veteran full back has seemed set to leave the Stadio Olimpico for several months, but speculation had surfaced in the Italian media that the double World Cup winner was ready to extend his stay in Rome.

"Roma will have to make a negotiation with Cafu and not on papers," stormed Antonelli.

"Nothing has changed in comparison of a month ago when he met with general director Baldini.

"Until June 30 he's a Roma player, from the day after he will be without job, and in Rome he won't stay.

"Roma proposed a two-year contract, but with figures that can't be accepted by Marcos. The club know what he expects as an offer."

Antonelli went on to confirm that there were no shortage of offers for his client should he quit Fabio Capello's men.

"What future there could be for him? In addition to Japan, there are big important European teams that want him, like Arsenal and Barcelona abroad, and Milan in Italy."
