Keane and Vieira to be fit

ROY KEANE and Patrick Vieira are both expected to shake off knocks in order to take their place in Wednesday's titanic battle between Arsenal and Manchester United.

The midfield warriors will lock horns in a key tussle despite picking up injuries over the weekend.

Keane sustained a dead leg, hobbling off to leave United down to ten men, after a clumsy challenge by Newcastle's Shola Ameobi.

Vieira was the victim of several heavy tackles against Sheffield United, and was caught by Blades star Michael Brown.

Arsene Wenger substituted his skipper as a precaution but the Frenchman is expected to be fit for the Highbury clash.

Sir Alex Ferguson still has concerns over several of his squad, including keeper Fabien Barthez who may have broken a toe when gifting Newcastle their second goal at St James' Park.

A scan will determine the full extent of the French number one's damage, while John O'Shea, Ryan Giggs and David Beckham are also doubts.

O'Shea's injury seems to be the most serious and Alan Shearer's rash challenge on the Republic of Ireland international provoked an angry response from Ferguson.
