Solano receives Peru call-up

NEWCASTLE UNITED'S Nolberto Solano has been called-up by Peru coach Paulo Autori for their international friendly against Paraguay.

Solano started The Magpies' recent Premiership clash against Manchester United, but was withdrawn by Sir Bobby Robson on 66 minutes after failing to impress.

Many of the 26-man squad, which also includes Bayern Munich ace Claudio Pizarro, have already convened for the match on April 30.

The squad features eight stars who ply their trade away from Peru, whilst the others are mainly up-and-coming stars searching for their chance to impress on the national stage.

"I have called up all the players that are performing well for their teams at this moment," said Autori. "I am not used to giving surprises each time we have a get together."
