Riquelme unhappy with media judgement
Riquelme has bemoaned the press focus on his seemingly downbeat persona and not on his footballing abilities.
The Argentine ace insists that despite the criticism from the Spanish media, he has no intention of changing his ways.
"I've heard that some parts of the press are saying that I am not happy," lamented Riquelme.
"They care about if I come to training sessions early or not. I am used to hearing things that aren't true but I think that things must be done correctly on the pitch and not caring about if you are smiling or not.
"Each one of us has a way of being and I am happy with my way. I will always be the same."
Riquelme also admitted he has struggled to adapt at Camp Nou as he feels he has been deployed out of position since his arrival from Boca Juniors.
He added: "In Argentina, everyone knew in which position I played better and felt comfortable.
"I thought that in Barcelona, it was going to be the same but I was wrong. Playing in the position I am is making it more difficult for me to adapt."
