Soldevilla plays down Espanyol exit talk

ESPANYOL defender Toni Soldevilla insists he is fully committed to the club after rumours linking him with a move away from the Estadio Montjuic.

The 24-year-old centre back has been in outstanding form this term despite Espanyol's disappointing season, and Premiership duo Tottenham Hotspur and Bolton Wanderers are thought to be monitoring his situation.

Espanyol are still embroiled in a desperate scrap to avoid the drop from La Primera, and should they get relegated it would seem likely that Soldevilla would move on.

However, the Espanyol youth product claims he is totally focused on his future with the Catalan club.

"My only obligation is to give my all for Espanyol," Soldevilla stated.

"It's nice when people say good things about you, but I don't consider myself any better or worse than anyone else.

"I believe I am a professional who gives everything to what he does. I try to be myself and not to cheat either myself or the club.

"What is clear is that I must keep giving my all to the club during this time where we are fighting for our lives, without thinking about where we might be next year as we could be loaned out or signed by others."
