Blanc denies Montpellier contact
The evergreen defender has played a bit-part at Manchester United this season and is looking for a new challenge away from Old Trafford in the summer.
However, Blanc has denied receiving any contact from anybody at Stade de la Mosson.
"Listen, I have nothing to say about that, because I know absolutely nothing about it," said the former Les Bleus stalwart.
"I haven't had any contact and I have other things in mind with Manchester United.
"Now, I only wish Montpellier remain in Le Championnat, and if that's the case, don't forget to take your hat off to coach Gerard Bernardet for the fantastic job he has done."
Montpellier chairman Louis Nicollin fuelled further speculation by inferring that there could be a big coaching acquisition in the summer.
"I ask myself if I have the best coaching trio in France and, if not, do we need someone in to assist them in the summer?" Nicollin told L'Equipe.
"I must say I rarely see Montpellier players so happy to be surrounded by their coaches as they are at the moment.
"I think a lot of them and I can't see myself parting with them if they save the club from relegation.
"However, I still think Robert Nouzaret (set to join the coaching staff in the summer) is topical.
"But I also have a great surprise up my sleeve - enormous even."
The Montpellier supremo did confirm, however, that the club will be forced to sell players in the summer but has had few enquiries regarding his playing staff.
"At Montpellier, the phone doesn't ring anymore," added Nicollin.
"The agents talk a lot, but there is no demand.
"Perhaps we will have a miracle. Lens are interested in Valery Mezague, but they will drop his wages by 40 per cent so I can't see a deal going through.
"Lyon may buy Habib Bamogo according to one agent.
"Although when I phoned their chairman Jean-Michel Aulas, he told me he had never heard of Bamogo."
