The prestigious awards ceremony in London sees players past and present gather to see who has caught the eye most during the season.
The nominations for the team of the season were made some time ago, with the choices for each position announced on Sunday.
Ruud van Nistelrooy has been in sizzling form for Manchester United this season, but the Dutch assassin was not named as one of the strikers.
The two front men were Arsenal`s Thierry Henry and Newcastle United captain Alan Shearer.
Blackburn's Brad Friedel was named The Premiership`s top goalkeeper, while London clubs dominated the defensive slots.
Arsenal provided Sol Campbell and Ashley Cole; Tottenham`s Stephen Carr was given the nod, as was Chelsea`s impressive Frenchman William Gallas.
The midfield would certainly be a dream for many managers, with Arsenal duo Robert Pires and Patrick Vieira paired with Newcastle livewire Kieron Dyer and Manchester United ace Paul Scholes.
