Trundle denies rape allegations
The 26-year-old had been arrested and bailed after allegations of rape had been made against him.
Trundle's solicitor Brian Jackson has now released a statement denying the allegations, saying that the complainant was known to his client, after he had accused them of stalking him on a number of earlier occasions.
"I represent Lee Trundle against whom false and malicious allegations have been made," said Jackson's statement.
"Unlike the complainant he has no right to anonymity. The fact that he is a footballer with Wrexham has resulted in the nature of the allegations being leaked, and understandable press interest.
"My client has co-operated fully with the police. He vehemently denied the allegations.
"He has provided the police with details of his dealings with the complainant. These details include a number of occasions when he had attended police stations and made prior complaints about the complainant stalking him.
"He has provided the police with the names and details that will confirm the unwanted attentions of the complainant.
"He wishes to get on with his life while the police make the enquiries that will undoubtedly clear him."
