Carnell set for Foals move

Foals' sport director Christian Hochstatter confirmed on Friday that the club had agreed a three-year deal with Carnell which would be finalised after a medical on Monday.

The 26-year-old left back has made 82 Bundesliga appearances for Stuttgart since joining the club in 1998 but has failed to hold down a regular first-team place this season.

Carnell has had to watch for most of the season as Felix Magath's side have had a superb season that has seen the Schwaben outfit climb up to an astonishing second place in Die Bundesliga.

The South African was in his national squad for last year's World Cup in Japan and South Korea but that has not helped this term.

He will be hoping that he gets more regular action at struggling Gladbach and is banking on them fighting off relegation to show himself in the top-flight next season.
