Parker happy at Charlton

SCOTT PARKER has distanced himself from reports linking him with a move away from Charlton by pledging his future to the club.

The tough-tackling midfielder enjoyed a superb season with Charlton last term and his form saw him attract the interest of a host of clubs.

Reports have linked Tottenham with a move for the England Under-21 international, but Parker insists he is happy to stay at The Valley

"I've said all along that being here at Charlton is a dream for me, one I've had since I was a young boy," Parker told the club's website.

"I'm playing football with a great squad and a great manager and I really think that I can achieve all my ambitions here."

Parker is confident that he can achieve all his ambitions at Charlton by becoming an England regular.

"I'd be lying if I said that England isn't in the back of my mind because it is, but my main aim is to do well for Charlton and if Mr Eriksson is there and I impress him then so be it," added Parker.

"We all know how many good midfielders there are fighting for the England place and it's going to be tough, but hopefully if I can keep putting in good performances and playing well for Charlton I might have a chance."
