Beckham blow mars England win

IT has been confirmed that David Beckham sustained a fractured scafoid during England's 2-1 win over South Africa.

The England captain picked up the injury after falling awkwardly following a challenge from Thabang Molefe.

Beckham was replaced by Jermaine Jenas on 50 minutes and was immediately taken to a local hospital in Durban for X-rays.

The news will be a big blow for the Manchester United star who was playing in his last game of the season as he is ruled out of England's upcoming Euro 2004 qualifier with Slovakia through suspension.
