Del Piero has no United desire

ALESSANDRO DEL PIERO has returned the compliments paid to him by Manchester United skipper Roy Keane but admits he would find it difficult to ever leave Juventus.

The classy Italian international heads to Old Trafford for Wednesday's Champions League final against Milan in confident mood, with praise from Keane ringing in his ears.

The United midfielder claimed Del Piero would be the one player he would love to link up with in Sir Alex Ferguson's team.

"I heard what Roy Keane said and it proves he is a great connoisseur of football," laughed Del Piero.

"Joking aside, it is a great honour what he has said because Roy Keane is a great player.

"He is so aggressive and courageous, a man who always gives the maximum.

"He is certainly a player to be respected and it is great to play against such men.

"I know Manchester would be a wonderful place to play football," he told The Sun.

"They have a great stadium for one thing, and I can't wait to play there in this final.

"They have great supporters and there is the chance to play in English football.

"It would be tempting to go there because all the right things are in place.

"To be honest, a couple of years ago, it might have been different because I thought about moving then. But, to be honest, I am glad I stayed in Turin.

"At Juventus now, we are back on top. I have no reason to leave and my future is here.

"It would be too difficult to leave a club like this.

"Juve is my club and I do not want to leave."
