Bordeaux reject PSG's Pauleta offer

BORDEUAX have rejected Paris Saint Germain's bid for Portuguese striker Pauleta.

New PSG coach Vahid Halilhodzic has made Pauleta his top summer transfer target, but he could be frustrated in his attempts to bring the striker to the Parc Des Princes.

PSG are reported to have offered ‚é¼6 million for Pauleta, but Bordeaux have placed an ‚é¼8 million price tag on his head.

Bordeaux chairman Jean-Louis Triaud laughed off PSG's bid for Pauleta.

"The PSG offer is funny and without any interest," said Triaud.

The 30-year-old is believed to be keen on leaving Bordeaux, but they do want to sell him to a Le Championnat rival and would prefer to see him go abroad.

Should PSG miss out on Pauleta they may turn their attentions to Porto's Helder Postiga and Strabsourg's Daniel Ljuboja.

Meanwhile, PSG are set to announce the signing of of Monaco's Julien Rodriguez next week.

The 25-year-old's contract at Monaco has expired and PSG have snapped him on a four-year deal.

PSG are looking to offload a number of players to fund their own transfer plans with 14 players thought to be told they can leave.

Edouard Cisse, who spent all of last season on loan at West Ham, was close to joining newly- promoted side Le Mans but his personal demands put pay to the move.
