Llaurado in Vieri/Crespo claim

BARCELONA presidential candidate Jaume Llaurado claims to have reached an agreement with Internazionale to sign either Christian Vieri or Hernan Crespo should he prevail in this weekend's elections.

However, Llaurado insisted that through 'confidentiality' he could not yet reveal which of the two strikers had been lined up.

This new assertion follows hot on the heels of Llaurado's declaration that he would also attract Romanian defender Cristian Chivu to Camp Nou if he becomes president.

Llaurado's assistant, Guiliano Terraneo - a former Inter official - negotiated the accord with the Serie A outfit and stated that the mystery player was 'delighted by the possibility of coming to Barca'.

He went on: "We have now decided who will be our centre forward, but he has asked us not to give his name because if we do not win it will leave him in a difficult situation."

However, Llaurado went on to drop a broad hint as to the player's identity by adding: "Barca need to win titles now, we can not wait and Vieri guarantees the goals we need."

In a further twist, Terraneo then stated: "There is also a really big player called Adriano who is in joint ownership between Inter and Parma.

"He's prodigious. Considering the relationships I have with Inter, we could also talk about him, in addition to Vieri."
