Guti unhappy with Beckham saga
The England captain is dominating the headlines both in his homeland and in Spain as he inches closer towards a big-money exit from Manchester United.
Barcelona presidential candidate Joan Laporta has already had a bid accepted by The Red Devils but Real remain favourites to sign the coveted midfielder.
But Spanish international Guti is unhappy the speculation surrounding Beckham's future is proving an unwanted distraction ahead of the closing two games of the Liga season.
Real trail title rivals Real Sociedad by a single point and face a white-hot capital derby this weekend when they tackle fierce foes Atletico.
Guti believes it is unfair that the Beckham saga is taking precedence when there is silverware still at stake for the Santiago Bernabeu giants.
"The rumours of potential signings do not bother me but it is not right that all the coverage is for Beckham before a game in La Liga," bemoaned Guti.
"I only speak of the players who are on my team. The rest does not matter to me although it does not bother me either that they are spoken of.
"I do not understand, nor do I believe that it is right, that for what we are playing for is gaining less coverage than Beckham."
As for the weekend's titanic tussle with Atletico, Guti is confident Real's city rivals will head into the match with the proper attitude.
Atletico will play a key part in deciding the destiny of the Spanish crown as they face Sociedad on the final day and Guti has no qualms that Los Rojiblancos will be motivated for both games.
He added: "I do not believe there is resentment between us and the Atletico players. All the teams want to win.
"I do not see that they would not be motivated to play against Real Madrid and do not believe they would be below their best against Real Sociedad.
"In any case, it is going to be an exciting derby in which the only result of worth to us is a victory."
