Nikos on the mend
NEWCASTLE UNITED defender Nikos Dabizas has been told he will be fit for the start of the season.
The Greek ace suffered a broken arm when losing control of his car on the way home from international action on Wednesday.
Initial reports suggested Dabizas, who has been told he can leave St James` Park, would miss the early exchanges of next term.
Such an outcome would have hindered the 29-year-old`s chances of earning a move before the closure of the transfer window, but the surgeon who operated on Dabizas believes he will be ready by the end of August.
"Dabizas will be back on the field at the end of August at the latest," said Lakis Nikolaou, the surgeon who treated him.
