Moore wants more at Millmoor

ROTHERHAM manager Ronnie Moore has admitted that he would leave Millmoor for a job in The Premiership.

Moore has been at the club for six years and has achieved promotion to the First Division but he is ambitious to mange at a higher level, and feels he may not be able to achieve his aims at Rotherham.

He told The Sheffield Star: "I want to manage at the highest level with Rotherham but I'm not sure that the club shares my ambition.

"When I bring in new faces they are only as good as the ones they are replacing. We are not able to raise the standard of the team at the moment.

"I know the chairman and everyone else are doing all they can but we have to sort out the ground.

"We need that new stand to be built - we are in a time warp and we need to get out of it quick."

Moore clearly enjoys working for Rotherham and would love to take them into The Premiership but he may have to fulfil his ambitions elsewhere.

"I would only ever leave Rotherham for a Premiership club," he added. "This is a special place for me and we have been good for each other. I just want to take us to the next level."

Meanwhile, Cardiff City have made an enquiry about Rotherham midfielder Andy Monkhouse.

There has been no formal offer for the 22-year-old, who signed as a trainee at Millmoor back in 1998 ,and it remains to be seen which colours Monkhouse will be wearing in August, as The Millers face Cardiff at Millmoor on the opening day of the season.
