Robbo set for Villa talks
A £3.25 million transfer has been thrashed out between the Premiership sides as David O'Leary looks to raid his former club.
The swoop is a little surprising as, although handing Robinson his senior debut, O'Leary often plumped for Nigel Martyn as his first choice during his tenure at Elland Road.
Furthermore, the 23-year-old keeper was thought to be holding out for a move to Arsenal or his boyhood heroes Manchester United, although any interest from The Premiership's top duo has never been firmed up.
Robinson is expected to travel to Birmingham for talks with Villa chairman Doug Ellis on Thursday, and the Midlanders hope the capture can be completed before the weekend.
O'Leary has decided to replace Villa number one Peter Enckelman, who was guilty of a famous error in the derby defeat to Birmingham last season, and the purchase of one of the brightest, young keepers in the business would represent a major coup for the Irishman.
Meanwhile, Arsenal youngster Jermaine Pennant is reported to have rejected any opportunity to join Leeds as part of any deal for Australian attacker Harry Kewell.
