Pauleta set for Bordeaux stay
The Portuguese striker is wanted by a host of clubs, with Paris Saint Germain and Marseille showing particular interest.
However, Gama admits that Pauleta is likely to remain with Girondins.
"Frankly I am surprised by the number of clubs interested in Pauleta," he admitted.
"In France, PSG and Marseille have showed an interest, but there is also contact with four Spanish clubs and some Portuguese clubs.
"However for the moment we didn't talk with any of them.
"The Bordeaux chairman [Jean-Louis Triaud] told me that he would prefer Pauleta's goals rather than the Paris or Marseille money.
"The Bordeaux officials fear selling him to another French club, even if Jean-Louis Triaud told me he is ready to study the offer of a foreign club, Pauleta's future is much more likely to be in France rather than somewhere else.
"According to me, Pauleta will play one more season at Bordeaux, before probably signing a two year contract with another great French club.
"Then, he will go back to Portugal, perhaps at Porto, to end his career."
Triaud confirmed that PSG had made an offer.
"The only concrete offer came from Paris," he admitted.
"In that deal, PSG offered us some players they didn't want anymore - but I don't want to talk about that. We don't want to sell Pauleta.
"You know, our intention is clear, if tomorrow Pauleta is not in Bordeaux anymore, it won't be due to the club's will."
The Girondins supremo also reacted to rumours about coach Elie Baup and a possible departure to La Liga.
"I asked him where those rumours came from, he just replied he would be at Bordeaux next season and so I don't worry about the rumours."
Baup is also hoping to seal the permanent signing of Internazionale defender Marco Caneria.
"We are trying to speed up seriously on that deal," said Baup.
"Hopefully I think we will succeed. We clearly told him that we want to keep him."
