Pauleta agent blasts Triaud

PAULETA'S agent Jorge Gama has accused Bordeaux's chairman Jean Louis Triaud of offering his charge a poor new contract in order to persuade the fans that they are doing everything they can to hang on to the striker.

Pauleta's current deal at the club expires next summer, and Jorge Gama insists the player will see out his contract and then leave for a rival club.

"It was an unacceptable proposition," stormed Jorge Gama. "Moreover Triaud knew it would be rejected.

"Now he feels easy with the fans.

"He will be able to say he did his best and Pauleta refused to stay.

"Pauleta will certainly stay at Bordeaux until the end of the contract which will terminate in 2004.

"Then he will sign for another great French club."
