Brescia capture Nygaard
The striker has been looking for a new club ever since Excelsior were relegated from the Dutch Eredivisie.
He had trained with Brescia`s Serie A rivals Perugia, while Copenhagen were also interested.
However, it seems Brescia were the most persuasive and the 27-year-old will join the squad as they prepare for the InterToto Cup.
Nygaard has had an eventful few months, having returned to Holland after his move to Belgian outfit Lommel turned sour due to financial troubles.
He failed to establish himself at Excelsior and will be looking for some consistency at Brescia.
Nygaard`s arrival could well spell the end for one of the club`s other strikers, with Igli Tare said to be the most likely to be shown the exit door.
Brescia have had a busy Wednesday, with Fabio Petruzzi signing a two-year deal and an agreement being reached to keep Francelino Matuzalem at the club from Parma.
