Donny set to land Leo

LEO FORTUNE-WEST has agreed to join newly-promoted Doncaster Rovers and should sign a two-year deal on Monday.

The 32-year-old striker has been released by Cardiff City and had been mulling over a number of offers.

A Division Two side had offered him a 12-month contract but he has finally opted to join Dave Penney's outfit on a two-year deal, once he completes a medical on Monday.

The leggy marksman had fallen way down the pecking order at Ninian Park as they achieved promotion to Division One, and he will now be playing in Division Three next term.

The former Rotherham United man joined The Bluebirds for £300,000 in 2000 but will now return to South Yorkshire to join the Belle Vue club.

Penny's men became the first team to gain promotion to The Football League through the Nationwide Conference play-offs, and the manager wants a number of new signings to help cement their status in Division Three.

Fortune-West offers a wealth of experience and a massive physical presence up front and he may not be the only new arrival at Belle Vue this summer.
