Jags sign Kaczan

PARTICK THISTLE have completed the signing of former Hearts defender Paul Kaczan to a one-year deal at Firhill Stadium.

Kaczan was one of six youngsters to be axed by Jambos boss Craig Levein in April, after failing to make a breakthrough in his three-year spell at Tynecastle.

The 20-year-old has decided to move to the Glasgow club and is hoping to get a first team chance with The Jags, though manager Gerry Collins has initially signed Kaczan for the club's Under-21 side.

"I am really looking forward to the season. I am glad to get the chance to play here and it is my intention to get into the first team and play against better players," Kaczan told Partick Thistle's official website.

"That is what will help to make me a better player. I have been very impressed with the club, it is well run and hopefully we can only get better and continue to head in the right direction.

"My hopes for this season are for the team to do well and personally to force my way into the first team as quickly as possible."
