Vahid: Pauleta the priority
VAHID HALILHODZIC has made landing Pauleta from Bordeaux his priority in this summer's transfer market, but is hoping for plenty more new faces.
The new PSG coach is desperate to sign Pauleta, but has baulked at Bordeaux's huge asking price, and is well aware he must cut the wage bill this summer.
"Pauleta is my priority," said Halilhodzic in L'Equipe. "The player wants to come to the club but Bordeaux have asked for an enormous fee.
"If defender Mauricio Pochettino leaves it would allow me to hire three players.
"I want to hire four or five first-teamers and two or three substitutes, but we know we have to reduce the wage bill."
After talks with Bordeaux over Pauleta collapsed on Thursday, the capital club have been linked with Greek star Demis Nikolaidas.
The 29-year-old striker is available on a free transfer after being released by AEK Athens.
