Trotters cool on Sukur talk

TURKISH legend Hakan Sukur could be on his way to Bolton Wanderers, according to his agent, but Trotters boss Sam Allardyce has denied that talks are ongoing.

The 31-year-old joined Blackburn Rovers during last December's transfer window but suffered a broken leg in training and missed a large part of the season.

He recovered to make nine appearances for Rovers, scoring two goals - both against Fulham in a 4-0 victory back in April.

The former Galatasaray star, who has scored 37 goals in 82 games for his country, impressed Allardyce in a charity match organised by Arsenal striker Kanu, played at the Reebok Stadium in March this year.

He has been linked with a move to join The Trotters and his agent Hakan Azman told planetfootball that things could start to happen soon.

He said: "I have not had any contact yet but from what I've heard Bolton are preparing a bid.

"It's not clear yet but it will become clear very soon."

Allardyce has denied that he is currently holding talks with the player, but Sukur is looking to remain in The Premiership and things may happen at The Reebok as the new season approaches.
