Dida content at Milan

BRAZILIAN goalkeeper Nelson Dida has stated his desire to remain at Milan for the foreseeable future.

The South American shot-stopper cemented his place as number one at the San Siro last term, and admits he now feels he has the backing of the Serie A club after a difficult first couple of seasons in Italy.

The custodian was key figure in his side's Champions League final triumph against Juventus, excelling himself in the penalty shoot-out win, and has now set his sights on a lengthy stay with Carlo Ancelotti's men.

"I've played here three years but for the first time I've been lined-up frequently like a regular," said Dida.

"I thank the club for believing in me, also in difficult moments.

"When I return from holidays I will talk with management about my contract.

"It isn't a worrying matter. Milan know what I can do: I'll just think about working with tranquility, as I have done.

"My first aim is still being able to keep in good condition."

Dida also outlined his desire to add to last season's Champions League success by clinching the Italian title next term.

"As for our next season it will be fundamental to never be content," he added.

"I know it will be difficult repeating this season but with a competitive group we're obliged to aim for each trophy.

"We aim for the scudetto too, a scudetto that last season we lost after a long permanence at the top of standings."
