Ailton fails to show
It is the second year in succession that the 29-year-old goalgetter has returned late from his home country and his renewed absence is likely to have consequences.
"It's the same old story," angry Werder coach Thomas Schaaf told the club's official website. "I've got absolutely no understanding for his actions this year.
"We showed that we were prepared to help him out at the end of last season when he was allowed to leave early for home following a death in his family and then start his holiday.
"Therefore I was expecting to see him back on time. I'm very disappointed."
Ailton`s brother was killed in an accident at work in May, and it remains to be seen if his absence is connected with family commitments.
