Dunn deal

BIRMINGHAM have fended off late interest from Middlesbrough and will complete the capture of David Dunn from Blackburn on Thursday.

Blues and Rovers struck a deal for the player on Monday but reports suggested Boro were plotting an 11th-hour raid for the England international.

However, Birmingham, having made the midfielder their number one priority all summer, were determined not to lose out after agreeing terms with Rovers.

Dunn travelled to Birmingham on Wednesday and agreed terms following a meeting with Blues managing director Karren Brady.

The 23-year-old midfielder will undergo a medical on Thursday before putting pen-to-paper on a four-year deal.

In other news, defender Joey Hutchinson has signed a further month-to-month deal with Blues.
