Blues confirm Boro Dunn denial

BIRMINGHAM CITY have confirmed that they fought off late competition from Middlesbrough to land midfielder David Dunn.

The England ace will be unveiled once he has passed a medical, after he agreed terms on Wednesday. Blues co-owner David Sullivan confirmed that Dunn shunned late interest from Boro.

"Middlesbrough were definitely interested," said Sullivan.

"They were sat on the sidelines thinking it was an auction and they would just beat our price.

"But the player decided he wanted to come to Birmingham and stayed loyal to us which is very nice to see in this day and age."
