Reid keen on Bridges deal
The former Sunderland hit-man has just one year left on his Elland Road contract and could leave on a free transfer next summer.
While Bridges made an immediate impact upon arriving at the Yorkshire club, the 24-year-old has endured an injury-ravaged time of late.
A ruptured Achilles put paid to the striker's campaign last term, but he is now fully fit and back in training with The Whites.
"I had Michael in last week and had a chat about it and I did put those rumours to him and he said he knew nothing about it," Reid told the club's official website.
"So I want to make sure he stays anyway and the chairman will be in touch with his advisor and hopefully we can sort out an extension to his deal.
"Bridges coming back into things could be a massive bonus for us. I had him at Sunderland and I know he's a fantastic talent.
"He's only a young lad who hasn't played a lot of games, but once he's fully fit I think we'll see a very hungry Michael Bridges and that can only be good for Leeds United."
Though Leeds are keen to extend Bridges' deal, they may decide to wait until he proves his fitness this season before offering a contract extension.
