Anderson unveiled at Villarreal
The 32-year-old striker has signed from French side Lyon and sees certain similarities between his old club and his new side.
Anderson helped Lyon to win the French title this year and claims he can help Villarreal to improve every season.
"My time in Barcelona was very good for me because it has helped me with the four years that I have had in France, and with that experience now I can do much more," said Anderson.
"When I arrived at France I went to a club with an almost equal project, with the intention to make the things little by little to become an important team in the French League and Villarreal also he wants to be better every year in the league."
Anderson explained that he has followed the Spanish league since he left Barcelona, and does not think it has changed much in his absence.
"I do not believe that it has changed much in these four years. First it continues being the best league in the world."
Anderson has been on holiday for the best part of two months and says that he has not been keeping fit, and will have to work hard to regain his match fitness.
The Brazilian marksman would love to play for the club in Europe, but they must first progress through the Intertoto Cup to enter the Uefa Cup.
Villarreal president Fernando Roig says that Anderson is a quality addition to the squad as he is a proven goalscorer, something which is vital to gain success.
"Anderson is a very important player, in soccer the important things are the goals and Anderson has goals," said Roig.
"I believe that it is going to prompt many to look at this team because we want to be more important every year and this season we will have a team that is better than the one of the previous season."
