Doriva agrees Boro move
The 31-year-old impressed Boro during a loan spell on Teesside last season and Boro have now come to agreement with Celta Vigo over his transfer.
Talks were concluded on Friday and Doriva - full name Doriva Guidon Junior - revealed how happy he was that an agreement was reached.
"I am very happy," said the midfielder.
"This has finished and is best for me and for Celta.
"I have signed for a year with Middlesbrough, although I am going to be working to the maximum so that they can trust me and give me a longer deal.
"I only thought about leaving Celta, exclusively because I needed to play.
"I wish Celta all the luck in the world and hope they have success."
Continuing on the Brazilian theme, Boro look set to take their contingent to three within the next few days with Real Madrid midfielder Flavio Conceicao set to join Doriva and Juninho.
The deal between Real and Boro for a season-long loan has been completed and now the North East outfit just need to negotiate terms with the player.
Juninho has welcomed the news of Flavio's possible arrival.
"He is a great defensive midfielder but is also much more than that," he said.
"When he has the ball, he is also very good, his passing and touch are excellent, maybe like you would expect from a top Brazilian.
"He is a player who will win the ball and enjoy the physical side of the game, but he gets forward as well.
"He can do that because he is tremendous physically and can get up and down the field. If he comes, he will do well - he is a real athlete."
