Ronnie seals Barca switch

RONALDINHO has passed a routine medical at Barcelona and completed his £21 million transfer from Paris St Germain.

The Brazilian star revealed he opted for a switch to Camp Nou ahead of both Manchester United and Real Madrid because he felt the club could offer him everything he needed to progress his career.

"There is everything that a player can wish or need," the 23-year-old told www.fcbarcelona.es.

"It is a great club, through which have passed many of the players who comprise the history of football.

"I am very happy to have the opportunity to become a part of this team and to be in this pretty city," said Ronaldinho.

"I am going to do all I can to be able to give them much joy.

"In this squad there are many players of quality, and for that reason I feel privileged to be able to be a part of the squad."

The medical examination was the last obstacle which could have derailed the move to the Catalan outfit, but the South American came through his physical examination without problems.

Barca club doctor Jordi Ardevol stated: "Ronaldinho passed the medical tests satisfactorily, with a great attitude, and his physical state is excellent."

The Brazilian schemer signed a five-year contract at the Nou Camp on Saturday night and will be officially presented at a press conference on Monday afternoon.
