Schneider seals Hannover move

HANNOVER 96 have wrapped up the signing of Thomas Schneider on a free transfer from VFB Stuttgart.

Schneider opted to end his lengthy service with Stuttgart and ink a deal with Bundesliga rivals Hannover.

In turning his back on Champions League football, Schneider has penned a two-year contract with his new club.

The 30-year-old successfully passed a medical and has linked up with his new team-mates at their pre-season training camp in Austria.

Hannover coach Ralf Rangnick was delighted with his capture and hopes Schneider can have a similar impact to Fredi Bobic, who was signed last summer.

Rangnick said: "I hope he will have a similar effect as Fredi Bobic had in the previous year."
