Keeper worries for Vale
PORT VALE keeper Mark Goodlad looks like being on the sidelines for three months after being told he needs to go under the knife once again.
The 23-year-old has been struggling with a finger injury for some time and is still unable to straighten the digit despite having surgery at the end of last season.
A visit to a specialist earlier in the week confirmed that Goodlad will have to go under the knife once again.
Vale manager Brian Horton knows the setback for Goodlad could force him to raid the transfer market.
He said: "If anything happened to Dean Delaney I would have to go out and get a loan keeper and I have already made one or two enquiries just in case."
