Betis to unveil Lembo
The 25-year-old, who has 30 caps to his name with Uruguay, passed a medical on Monday with the Seville club and is due to complete his transfer to La Primera outfit on Tuesday.
The news will come as a bit of a surprise, as reports in South America had the defender linked with a move to Italy's Serie A over the weekend, with Juventus and Roma mooted to be the clubs showing strong interest in the centre half.
Lembo will join striker Ismael Lopez as the new faces at Betis this coming season, after the hit-man made his move from Alaves for an undisclosed fee last week.
The defender holds an EU passport, thus ruling out any need for a work permit in Spain, and he will put pen to paper on a four-year deal with Betis.
Talks between Betis president Manuel Ruiz de Lopera and Lembo's agent Paco Casal seem to have gone smoothly and the defender looks ready to make the switch into the European game this week.
