Riera rolls into Bordeaux

Le Championnat outfit have agreed a ‚é¼6 million (£4 million) fee with the Primera side for the 21-year-old starlet.

The 21-year-old had been on the verge of joining Atletico Madrid a couple of weeks back, but the two clubs could not reach agreement on how the transfer fee would be paid.

Bordeaux moved quickly to take advantage of the impasse, and sealed a big-money deal for the left-sided midfielder who is rated amongst the best young prospects in Spain.

Riera's agent Zoran Zivodijanovic confirmed that the transfer had gone through, and claimed that the move would be a great stepping stone for his client's career.

"We are convinced that in a couple of years he will be playing for one of the big clubs in Italy or England," said Zivodijanovic.
