Stags sign backline pair
MANSFIELD TOWN have signed the defensive duo of David Artell and Luke Dimech to short-term contracts with the Division Three side.
Artell (pictured) was released by First Division side Rotherham United at the end of last season, having spent much of last term on loan at Shrewsbury Town.
Dimech is Malta's international captain and joins The Stags after failing to impress Rushden & Diamonds during two trial spells earlier this summer.
Both players have been training at Field Mill since last month and their performances in the club's backline this pre-season have impressed player-manager Keith Curle enough to offer them short-term deals for the start of the new season.
"I am happy that they have both decided to sign a contract to stay a while longer," Curle told the club's official website.
