City sign Sibierski
City have been tracking the midfielder for some time and a deal appeared to be close on Friday when Sibierski was left out of the Lens squad for Saturday`s clash with Le Mans.
The playmaker travelled over to Manchester where he underwent a medical and thrashed out personal terms.
The formalities were concluded on Saturday, with the player signing a three-year deal.
Citizens boss Kevin Keegan has been scouring the market for a creative midfielder for much of the summer and feels Sibierski has the right profile to fill the role.
"Antoine has passed his medical and the terms are done," Keegan told the club`s website.
"We haven't been able to register him before Monday with the French FA offices being closed at the weekend.
"I am hoping to get him registered so that he can come with us to Rochdale on Monday night.
"He is a very good player who turns 29 in a few days` time.
"He has had Champions League experience scoring four goals for Nantes in the competition.
"He was captain of Lens, you don't get captain of the club without having some leadership qualities and having the respect of everyone. He is a little bit like Paul Bosvelt in that respect."
