Bluebirds close on Klos

CARDIFF CITY are set to beat Bolton to the signing of Polish defender Tomasz Klos.

The First Division new boys have agreed a deal with the 30-year-old and the transfer is just subject to a work permit being granted.

Klos had been on trial at Bolton and was expected to move to The Reebok Stadium, but it appears that he will now be moving to Ninian Park.

The move would prove something of a coup for Bluebirds boss Lennie Lawrence as Klos is an established Polish international and he will bolster their promotion bid.

Lawrence is hopeful of sorting out a deal for Klos in the next few weeks.

"The third player Tomasz Klos we are looking to sign on a permanent basis but that depends on him getting a work permit," Lawrence told the club's official website.

"He is a centre half and played for Poland on several occasions.

"He is a quality player but it will take a bit of time to get it done."

Klos could be joined at the club by Nordin Wooter and Daniel McBreen who are both on trial at Ninian Park.

"We have got a couple of players in on trial, one being Nordin Wooter," added Lawrence.

"He has been training over in Holland and he has done a lot of work so he will be here for this week with us and we will see where we go then.

"I wouldn't be bringing him here if there wasn't some chance of signing him.

"We have another lad Daniel McBreen, I spoke to a contact of mine in Scotland when I went up there on Saturday. He is a striker and looks interesting. He will spend the week with us as well."
